Our beautiful chapel, along with our motto, "Nosse Deum Vivere" or "To know God is to live", is a constant reminder of our connection with the Anglican Church and the Christian faith. The Chapel is an important part of College life, allowing for quiet reflection, prayer and worship. Special services and concerts are held throughout the year, with Evensong every Thursday from 6pm during semester.
Please feel free to contact the chaplain at any time for pastoral support and advice. The chapel is open daily from 8am - 10pm.
Michael Wood, Locum Chaplain
St George’s College has a long tradition of hosting weddings in our Chapel. The Chapel is set in the collegiate arrangement, with a central aisle and facing pews, and seats 110 people. Recently restored, its wood-panelling, arched ceiling, stone-work and beautiful stained-glass windows make it a desired venue for wedding ceremonies. It is equipped with an organ and a piano and may be booked all year round.
If you would like to book the Chapel for your wedding, please see the wedding and procedures document on this page and submit the form you will find there to the College Reception. The College grounds can lend itself perfectly as the backdrop to your wedding photography. We have historic trees, a heritage listed Rose Garden, large covered balconies and manicured lawns that are ideal backgrounds for your important photos.
We would be delighted to provide further information about St George’s College as a venue for your wedding ceremony and you are encouraged to submit an application.
