Congratulations to Malindi Haggett who has been awarded an Australia at Large Rhodes Scholarship.
Malindi, who has just graduated from UWA with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (Hons) and Bachelor of Medical Science (Hons), is passionate about health inequalities and preventative health care. She has been heavily involved in various charities and health promotion initiatives throughout her training. She has studied in the West Indies, rural Western Australia and spent a year working on Diabetes research at the University of Bath.
A keen sportswoman, Malindi has represented Australia in both Sailing and Fencing and was on the women’s fencing team who won a Silver medal at Australian Youth Olympic games and Bronze in the Junior Commonwealth Games. She also enjoys running, open water swimming, scuba diving and touch rugby.
At Oxford, Malindi hopes to further her understanding of global health problems and health policy.
