Georgian Dr.Richard Pestell has been awarded the Eric Susman Prize for 2015. The Eric Susman Prize is awarded annually to a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians for the best contribution to knowledge of any branch of internal medicine.
The Prize was awarded to Dr. Pestell for work published over the last two years in the field of critical care medicine research and clinical care, contributing to the understanding of the molecular mechanisms governing hormone responsive cancer.
Dr. Pestell is currently an oncologist and professor at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Sydney Kimmel Cancer Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Pestell received his M.B.B.S. in 1981 from UWA.
