Congratulations to Georgian Malindi Haggett who has been awarded Rhodes Scholarship. Malindi graduated from UWA with a Bachelor of Medicine, Surgery (Hons) and Medical Science (Hons) and is passionate about health inequalities and preventative healthcare.
Congratulations to Dr James Fitzpatrick (1997), who is a finalist for 2017 WA Australian of the Year. It is thoroughly deserved recognition for James' important paediatric work, including into preventing, diagnosing and treating Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
Angus Turner took the top prize at a gala dinner attended by more than 800 businesspeople and nominees. He was recognised for establishing Lions Outback Vision in 2010 which provides specialist eye health services in regional and remote communities in Western Australia.
In December the Chief Justice of Western Australia, the Hon Wayne Martin AC, announced the appointment of two Senior Counsel for 2014, after 12 applications were received. Congratulations to Georgian Michael Berry (1989) who was one of the appointments.
