  • Regular Formal Dinners are held in the Dining Hall and include a three course meal, musical entertainment and the opportunity to hear from extraordinary guest speakers. Past guests have included former Prime Ministers, other government Ministers, Nobel Prize winners, CEOs and UN ambassadors.

  • 'Practice of...' dinners are small formal dinners aimed at providing insight into a specific profession for students of that field. Professional guests from within the chosen field are invited to share their knowledge and experience.

  • With our vast alumni network, we can connect you with a Georgian mentor for career advice, help forming networks and potentially the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience while studying.

  • Our extensive academic tutorial program provides free weekly tutorials for university units, so that you get effective, unit-specific help to excel. We also provide support to develop general study skills.

  • Our 'Fireside Chats' are informal Q&A sessions with leaders in their respective fields, giving you the chance to obtain unique perspectives on academia, industry, government, and the wider community.

  • Interested in learning something new? Each semester we run a range of beginners' classes, with subjects as diverse as piano, photography, public speaking and foreign languages.

Social Events

  • Discover our Weekly Clubs: Join our Book Club to delve into captivating reads, our Arts Club to express your creativity, and our Movie Club to experience the magic of the films. These clubs are open to everyone and are run by our wonderful residents!

  • Our residents have the opportunity to socialise, dress up, and have fun each semester! We enjoy reuniting with former and current residents to celebrate our College at the Georgian Cocktail or to go off-campus to a unique bar for a little dancing at our Offsite Cocktail Party!

  • The Magic of our college's annual college ball, a charming event held on campus. Organised by our passionate College Club Executive, it promises unforgettable moments, exciting music, and the opportunity to forge lasting memories with your fellow residents. Celebrating the year in style onsite, in the heart of the college

  • Explore and connect with Inter-College Social Events, which include fun events like Backyard Cricket, Wholesome Sundays with coffee carts, and Acoustic Nights in our very own quad. These gatherings give residents a chance to socialise with the residents from other colleges in a friendly setting.

  • The social scene at St George's showcases the collaborative efforts of our committee members, crafting themed parties that bring your imagination to life. From enchanting 'Under the Sea' gatherings to energetic 'Alphabet Boogie' nights, rowdy 'Country Pub', and spooky Halloween extravaganzas. There is a themed JCR party that caters to every taste.

  • At St George's, there is a significant international focus, highlighting cultural celebrations like Holi and Dewali which showcase the college's diversity. We provide a platform for exchange students and long-stay international students to share their unique cultures, fostering global understanding and connections for life.

  • St George's residents take part in dozens of charity and community events around Perth, such as the Cancer Council’s Relay for Life, and the World’s Greatest Shave.

  • The annual College Play is entirely produced, directed and acted by St George's residents. Recent productions have included Harry Goblet and the Pot of fire, Not Star Wars and Alice in Wonderland.

  • Acoustic Concert is a casual music based event, typically held in our chapel or quadrangle.

  • Sunday Sesh is a low-key and chilled day of music in the sunshine, and is typically held in the quadrangle. Students are welcome to bring their study whilst they relax to our talented musical residents.

  • General Music Dinner is an opportunity for residents to enjoy a formal dinner in the Dining Hall whilst listening to performances led by our many talented musicians.

  • The UWA Residential Student Department runs the ultimate Inter-College event of the year, Battle of the Bands! Join the band by auditioning on a variety of instruments to display your talents and represent George’s!

  • Folk Night is an opportunity for any resident to showcase some creative talent they may have. Everything from poetry and dramatic readings to musical performances.

  • Classics Music Dinner is the second music formal dinner in the calendar. This event is more formal as only the best musical performers and music scholars are chosen to play. The night also provides an opportunity for our residents to mingle with our board members and invited special guests.

  • Arts Club is a club that is organised weekly by two residents who have been chosen by the broader college community. The club hosts a variety of activities each week, including pottery and jewelry-making.

Whilst all these sports go towards winning the overall Intercollege Sports Award, it’s all a way to meet friends and get involved! Whether you’re looking for some fun, or a keen competitor, there is something for everyone.

  • College residents can sign up to a subsidised membership of the UWA Recreation and Fitness Centre, just a two-minute walk across the road. The Centre is fully equipped with more than 120 exercise machines and runs 40+ fitness and recreation classes per week. It also offers easy access to a wide range of sports courts, including tennis, netball, squash, basketball, badminton and volleyball. Gym application forms are found on the Fresher Portal and the Resident Portal.
